"IT'S time for some action and we've got to start seeing it on the pitch."

That is the rallying call from York City boss Adam Hinshelwood as his side take on fellow strugglers Kidderminster Harriers tomorrow afternoon (3pm).

Hinshelwood is still searching for his first win - and indeed point - with the Minstermen after replacing Neal Ardley in the hotseat last week, with tomorrow afternoon no better time to do just that.

Kidderminster have seen an upturn in form following the departure of former City midfielder Russ Penn, with victories over both high fliers Solihull Moors and Oldham in the last fortnight moving them level on points with the Minstermen.

The sides currently occupy 22nd and 23rd in the Vanarama National League table, but victory at the Aggborough Stadium could see them rise out of the relegation zone and as high as 19th position.

And with the games counting down in their bid to avoid the drop, Hinshelwood admits that the fixture is a must-win for his side.

"I think it's going to be like that for every game now - there's nine games to go and 27 points up for grabs," he explained.

"We can't keep writing these games off. I've come in here with 11 games to go and we were talking as if there's still 11 games to go, but now there's nine. We can't be talking on Monday saying that there's only eight, and 24 points to play for then.

"We've got to now really focus. We've got to start providing, myself included, the players and everyone.

"It's time for some action and we've got to start seeing it on the pitch."

Whilst without captain Shayne Byrne due to a season-ending knee injury, Hinshelwood is wary of Kidderminster attacking threat against a City side that has already conceded six goals to relegation rivals under his tenure.

"They're a very solid side," he warned. "They get the ball forwards, they work very hard for each other and they've got a bit of individual quality as well.

"They've got strong players, there's no dressing that up, but we've got to be ready as well, we can't hide behind anything.

"It's time for us now to stop hiding and the action's got to start now."

However, with a tense atmosphere at the LNER Community Stadium on Tuesday evening, he says the proof will be in the pudding as to whether his players may feel more relaxed by being on the road.

"Potentially," he conceded. "It's not something that we've really touched upon as a group.

"We've got to enjoy playing here in front of our fans, and how we get them onside is with our performances and results, and that's something that we've got to aspire to do.

"We can't hide away from that, and we've got to face up to that challenge.

"It's not something that we've spoken about or addressed, but I think the proof will be in the pudding as to whether the lads will feel a little bit more relaxed playing away from home. But moving forward, we can't have that, it can't be an excuse.

"We've got a big following here and they're passionate about their football club, so we've got to embrace that."

As for the supporters making the trip to Kidderminster, Hinshelwood has called for them to get behind his players in their search for a vital three points.

"We're going to leave everything out on that pitch," he insisted.

"We had a really positive meeting and the players are fully behind it. We didn't show the best of us, and we want to implement it.

"Come and give us your full backing, we're going to do all that we can to leave everything we've got out there and hopefully come away with some points."
