YORK City boss Adam Hinshelwood is hopeful of welcoming a new signing to the club ahead of Saturday's crucial clash at Kidderminster Harriers (3pm).
Hinshelwood is yet to put his stamp on the Minstermen, but home defeats to relegation rivals Wealdstone and AFC Fylde over the last week have prompted him to look to the transfer market in a bid to help steer his side towards safety.
"We're looking at what's available to us, but we want it to be the right fit for the football club," Hinshelwood explained.
"I'm looking at it with the recruitment team and the chairman, but nothing's been confirmed yet."
However, he stressed that he will not look to the loan market, instead preferring to recruit players on permanent deals that will serve to benefit the club in the long-term.
"I think we want to bring players in on more of a longer term," the City boss admitted.
"The ones that we're looking to sign are ones with real scope and potential for us for the future, as well as now."

Hinshelwood conceded that it had been increasingly difficult to attract players to York on a permanent deal, given the club's position in the throes of a relegation battle.
But he insisted that that both he, and the players, were determined to do everything possible to prove that they will fight for the club's Vanarama National League survival.
He said: "With nine games to go, we're very much in a relegation fight and you're trying to attract players to come and be a part of that.
"But there's an unbelievable football club there for them to join.
"We want players who want to be here and be at the club for a long time and fight to stay in this league. You've got to think about those sorts of things.
"But our focus is not on that, it's on Saturday and Kidderminster.
"We're fully focused on that game and I'll say one game at a time, we need to be miles, miles better in lots of areas than we were on Tuesday night.
"I was disappointed, the group was disappointed and we've got to bounce back and show everyone that we are ready to fight for this football club."
