YORK City will be without defender Danny Amos for Saturday's trip to Kidderminster Harriers (3pm).

The Grimsby Town loanee was withdrawn in the early stages of the second half of Tuesday evening's 3-1 defeat to AFC Fylde with a calf injury, just 10 minutes after his half-time substitution.

City boss Adam Hinshelwood confirmed that Amos would not be available for their crucial clash at Kidderminster, but that he expects the defender to recover in time for Tuesday evening's visit to Altrincham.

Paddy McLaughlin, who started at left-back against Fylde, could also be a doubt after not training on Thursday.

“He’s struggling a bit with his calf,” the City boss explained.

“I don’t think it’s a tear, which is good news. But he’s unlikely to be involved this weekend and didn’t train today [Thursday].

“Paddy, he didn’t train today, but we’re hoping that he’ll be okay for Saturday.

“We’ve got one or two others that are potentially missing that didn’t train today, but we’re hoping the majority will be fit.”

Whilst defender Adam Crookes is facing up to six weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, Hinshelwood was pleased to report that most of his side have come through their period of Saturday-Tuesday fixtures relatively unscathed.

He also provided an update on Kai Kennedy, whose last minutes for York came in their 2-1 defeat at Hartlepool in late January.

“Obviously Crookesy is still out,” Hinshelwood continued. “Kai Kennedy, we’re missing a few of them.

“We’re still waiting on an x-ray on Kai’s wrist to see the extent of how long he’ll be out.

“But the squad from the other day, there’s only really Danny that will probably be missing and he should be back for Tuesday."
