YORK City's Maison Campbell will stay at Scunthorpe United for the remainder of the season after having his loan extended.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper first linked up with the Vanarama National League North promotion chasers on an initial one-month loan in December, making his Iron debut later that month in their 7-2 Lincolnshire Senior Cup thrashing of Gainsborough Trinity.

The move is Campbell's third loan spell of the season, having made a combined five appearances for troubled Marske United and NCEL premier division side Knaresborough Town.

However, with George Sykes-Kenworthy, David Stockdale and Rory Watson also on the books at the LNER Community Stadium, he has found game time limited.

Campbell has featured just twice for the Minstermen this season - in their North Riding Senior Cup defeat to Guisborough, and at Aldershot Town in August, in which he kept a clean sheet in the second half whilst deputising for the injured Stockdale.

Scunthorpe manager Jimmy Dean is delighted to have extended the young goalkeeper's stay in Lincolnshire, saying: "It's a huge plus to be keeping Maison.

"His personality and attitude is infectious around the place.

"He's going to be a really good goalkeeper when he comes of age, and he's keeping Ross [Fitzsimons] on his toes, and pushing him every day."
