YORK City have loaned goalkeeper Maison Campbell to Knaresborough Town.

The 20-year-old shot-stopper has joined the NCEL premier division club on an initial one-month loan.

It is Campbell's second short-term loan this season, having made two appearances for  Pitching In Northern Premier League premier division strugglers Marske United last month.

Campbell, who signed a new contract extension in August, is one of four goalkeepers at the Minstermen's disposal alongside David Stockdale, Rory Watson and new recruit George Sykes-Kenworthy.

He has made one appearance for City in the Vanarama National League this season, keeping a clean sheet after replacing the injured Stockdale against Aldershot Town.

Campbell also started City's North Riding County Cup defeat to Guisborough Town last night.

Knaresborough confirmed the news in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

It said: "We are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper @MaisonCampbell on a month long loan from @YorkCityFC (subject to league approval).

"We look forward to seeing Maison in a Town shirt.

"Welcome to Manse Lane Maison."

Simon Parkes' Knaresborough currently sit 11th in the NCEL premier division, having won six and drawn two of their opening 14 matches.

He could make his debut for the Manse Lane club when they host table-toppers Campion on Saturday (3pm).
