THE FA has confirmed that York City assistant coach Tony McMahon was charged with misconduct following his actions during the Minstermen’s 1-1 draw with Ebbsfleet on December 23.
City looked to be heading for victory after Lenell John-Lewis’ composed finish, but a controversial stoppage-time equaliser from Fleet goalkeeper Mark Cousins left fans stunned at the LNER Community Stadium.
McMahon was shown a red card by referee John Mulligan after the final whistle amid his frustrations.

In a breach of Rule E3.1, it is alleged that upon conclusion of the fixture, his language and/or behaviour was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper and/or threatening towards a Match Official, leading to his dismissal.
It is also alleged that, following his dismissal, his language and/or behaviour was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper and/or threatening towards a Match Official.
McMahon had until the evening of January 3 to respond to the charges.
