OLLY DYSON has departed York City on an initial one-month loan deal to Scarborough Athletic.

Dyson, who was voted as York's Clubman-of-the-Year last season, has struggled to have a similar impact this season having made 25 appearances in all competitions.

The midfielder was named as the club's man-of-the-match against both Solihull Moors and Bromley this season at the LNER Community Stadium, and has made over 100 appearances for City since joining in 2020.

Scarborough's newest addition has also netted seven goals in the last three campaigns for York, and was part of the City team that gained promotion from the Vanarama National League North in the 2021/22 season.

Dyson will re-unite with former York goalkeeper Ryan Whitley, who joined Scarborough on a permanent deal in November, and will help to spearhead the Seadogs' promotion push after Jonathan Greening's side managed 14 victories in 27 matches in the National League North.

Having made the move to North Yorkshire in 2020, Dyson had previously been a product of the Huddersfield Town academy, enjoying loan spells with Liversedge, Shaw Lane and Barrow prior to permanently departing the Terriers.

It also continues City's recent relationship with Scarborough, having previously manufactured deals for loan spells with Whitley and Finlay Barnes, who impressed during his time in the National League North.

Dyson could make his Scarborough debut as quickly as this evening, as the Seadogs prepare to welcome Boston United to the Flamingo Land Stadium (7.45pm).
