Hartlepool United sell out 1,400 ticket allocation for York City clash

Over 1,400 away fans will travel to the LNER Community Stadium when the sides meet in the Vanarama National League on Saturday, November 18.

Pools’ tickets have flown off the shelves since going on sale last week, with supporters eager to see John Askey manage against his former club for the first time.

Askey led the Minstermen to promotion to the National League after winning the Play-off Final at the end of the 2021/22 season, but was sacked last November after 12 months in charge.

The 58-year-old was then appointed Hartlepool boss in February, but despite seeing his side unbeaten in eight matches, he could not prevent their relegation from Sky Bet League Two earlier this year.

Hartlepool currently sit seventh in the National League table on 22 points, having won seven of their 15 matches thus far.

York are 17th, their 15-point haul accumulated with a combination of three wins and six draws.

The sides last met in a friendly in July 2019, with City running out 2-1 winners at Bootham Crescent. Their last league meeting saw a late Michael Woods goal hand Hartlepool victory by the same scoreline in 2016.
