THIERRY LATTY-FAIRWEATHER is relived to have helped York City to their first win of the season- after striking an early goal of the season contender.
After joining the club in the Summer from Burton Albion, Latty-Fairweather has impressed in left-back, pushing for the position and performing admirably in York's 3-0 victory over Southend United on Saturday afternoon.
Latty-Fairweather has enjoyed working under newly-appointed manager Neal Ardley so far, and hopes Saturday's win can be a building block onto a good spell of form.
“It’s been good, he’s trying to help me better my body positioning so I can get on the ball and go forward and express my attributes, I like working under him." Latty-Fairweather told the Press and Jorvik Radio.
“It’s been good, especially with the new gaffer coming in, we’ve got a lot of patterns now and we’ve been solid and working. You can see it when coming onto the pitch.
“It’s brought us a lot closer to the squad, we’re looking forward to the next game.
“It was a real good relief, now we have to build on it and keep going.
“I saw it open and thought why not? Let’s have a go, I’m right footed!
“It was a good feeling to be honest, I’ve seen it open up and just taken the strike, it was a good feeling.
“It felt great, it’s just good to get the first win of the season and now we’ve got to build on that.
“That’s the best feeling, when the fans are behind you it gives you the most confidence to keep going and going."
Latty-Fairweather has also adapted to life in York well, and is enjoying his move to North Yorkshire, and thanked supporters for being so welcoming to his arrival.
“I was living in Birmingham originally, that’s where I grew up, so I had to commute to Burton.
"I’ve moved up to York and I like it in the city to be honest, everyone’s really welcoming, fans and everyone around the city."
