A “lonely” cottage on a York traffic island is back on the market – with a new price.
The Grade II-listed former stock keeper’s cottage for Knavesmire, just off Tadcaster Road, is for sale for £310,000.
It was previously listed for sale last September with an asking price of £350,000.

The property’s slightly obscure spot means any future owners would enjoy living close to the centre of York without having to worry about neighbours.
Ashtons, which is marketing the cottage, said it is in “need of a scheme of modernisation and refurbishment” but a spokesperson added: “This gives the successful purchaser the opportunity to create a most individual home.”
The property is also sold with a “user clause”, according to its listing , which means it cannot be used as a holiday let.

It is being sold with a 250-year leasehold and an annual ground rent of £1.
As The Press has reported , the house is a cruciform cottage constructed in the mid-1800s – with a floor plan in the shape of a cross.
The home has two bedrooms and one bathroom and still retains many of its original period features.
Outside is a garden covering all four sides of the property.
