THE letter from Andy Knowles (The Press, February 21) about the absolute necessity to have a link road in the Nestlé development available for all traffic from Crichton Avenue to Haxby Road repeats similar letters from Matthew Laverack and myself last year.
It is too much to expect the Lib Dems on City of York Council to make life easier for motorists.
I was at York Hospital recently and the congestion of Wigginton Road was as bad as ever.
No doubt some of the hospital patients would be there with back problems caused by speed bumps or bad chests caused by the increased pollution caused by the 20mph speed limits.
The Crichton bridge route is the only sensible way from the Clifton side of town to Heworth and the Hull Road area, and I would have thought that the city council’s traffic department would jump at the chance to relieve congestion at the hospital.
