THE 2024/25 Vanarama National League continues to take shape, with relegations and promotions taking place this week.

As York City's battle to avoid the drop continues to the final day of the Vanarama National League season, two teams suffered the unfortunate fate of relegation in the penultimate weekend of the campaign.

Dorking Wanderers and Kidderminster Harriers' relegations were confirmed on Saturday afternoon after both sides failed to win, with the two teams returning to regional football

Kidderminster have dropped back into the Vanarama National League North in their debut season in the fifth tier, after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Eastleigh.

Paul McCallum bagged a 32nd minute winner to take his tally in the National League to 30 goals, with the Spitfires themselves now safe from relegation after defeating City 1-0 the weekend prior.

Despite Kidderminster struggling to stay afloat this campaign, the Harriers did enjoy a slight revival under manager Phil Brown after parting ways with former York midfielder Russ Penn in early January.

The Minstermen failed to beat Kidderminster in both fixtures this season, falling to a 1-0 defeat in the first home match of the season, as well as a 0-0 draw in March.

Dorking's relegation was all but confirmed on Thursday evening after a dastardly 4-2 defeat to Wealdstone, but their status was official after a 1-1 draw with Rochdale at Meadowbank.

The Wanderers are another team that City failed to beat in the National League, with Marc White's team celebrating a 1-0 victory in February and a 2-2 draw in August.

Dorking lasted two season's in the National League after gaining promotion in 2022, pipping Ebbsfleet United to promotion via the play-offs.

With today's result, our relegation from the National League is officially confirmed this afternoon.

Huge thank you to everyone for their devotion & support for the club during these past two seasons, and we look forward to our final game of the campaign back at Meadowbank next… https://t.co/jAHGjR1UBE

Elsewhere, York learned of a potential opponent for the National League next season, should they stay up themselves, when Yeovil Town claimed the National League South title on Thursday evening.

Yeovil became mathematically champions on Thursday after toppling Truro City in Gloucestershire, with Rhys Murphy and Alex Fisher netting important goals in the Glovers' promotion-winning clash.

Mark Cooper's side responded to last campaign's relegation with an immediate return to the fifth tier, with Chelmsford City and Worthing now unable to catch Yeovil.
