LEONE GRAVATA is a doubt for York City’s trip to Altrincham on Tuesday, March 12 (7.45pm) after making his debut on Saturday.

Gravata came on as a 68th minute substitute for Billy Chadwick in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Kidderminster Harriers, after joining York from Vanarama National League South outfit Eastbourne Borough on Friday afternoon.

However, the attacker will have to wait to make his City debut due to a tight groin, with manager Adam Hinshelwood also providing updates on Michael Duckworth, Adam Crookes, Kai Kennedy and Danny Amos.

“There’s a couple struggling, Ducky came on and rolled his ankle and Leone felt some tightness in his groin as well,” Hinshelwood told BBC York.

“They are the two we’re going to look at and whether they are available tomorrow night.

“He’s (Amos) getting there, he was training on Thursday after his calf problem.

“We had a group training and Kai Kennedy is seeing a specialist, so he might be available to train on Thursday, Danny Amos might be available to train on Thursday and we had Crookesy on the grass running as well.

“We’re hoping that there will be a few more available to us in the coming weeks”

Hinshelwood also explained the role which captain Lenell John-Lewis will play in his squad, with the striker potentially making his first start under the new City boss on Tuesday night.

John-Lewis is yet to start a match under Hinshelwood, but the striker's attitude has impressed Hinshelwood in training, with the captain now in contention to be named in the York squad.

Hinshelwood told BBC York: “He’s an option for us, one thing I can say about Lenny is that he is a real leader amongst the group.

“If he’s not playing then he is driving standards, I can’t speak highly enough for all of the players we’ve got in the group and Lenny is one of them.

“Lenny is available to start definitely.”
