YORK City will travel to Nantwich Town in the Third Round of the Isuzu FA Trophy next month.

The Minstermen reached the Quarter Final of last season's competition before falling to a 2-1 defeat to Altrincham.

Prior to that, they had defeated Blyth Spartans and Chelmsford City, the latter in a dramatic penalty shootout.

Whilst City enter the draw at the Third Round stage, their Pitching In Northern Premier League division one west opponents saw their run to this round begin in September.

A 3-0 victory at Liversedge was followed by triumphs over Dunston and Bradford (Park Avenue), before a penalty shootout win against Stratford Town.

Paul Cardon's side also produced a giant-killing in the Second Round to overcome Chester on spot-kicks following a goalless draw on Saturday.

And the Dabbers have form in the FA Trophy, having made it all the way to the Semi Finals of the competition in 2015-16 before a 6-4 aggregate defeat to Halifax Town.

Despite their Cup success, Nantwich have made a poor start to their league campaign, a run of just three wins from their opening 13 matches seeing them sit just outside the relegation zone in 17th.

The tie is expected to be played on December 9.
