YORK City have announced their next intake of academy players for the 2023/24 season.

After the success of the Under-19's season last campaign, York have welcomed an influx on players into the side after a fantastic year in the National League Alliance Academy North.

City finished third in the division and enjoyed a run of one defeat in 18 matches, before going on to defeat Woking 1-0 at England's St George's Park in the National League Academy Cup, winning the competition.

Tim Ryan has added 11 new players to their side with hopes of earning a first professional contract with the football club after a busy Summer in the academy, working alongside Head of Youth Development Dan Wilson.

Youngsters Harry Carr, who is a goalkeeper, defenders Benji Tate, Roan Shirley, Aaron Dijikingue and MacKenzie Crookes, midfielders George Grumley, Alex Glynn and Bailey Wilson, and forwards Adam Nganga, Noah Mortimer and Harvey Hope have all joined the Under-19's ahead of their season-opener tomorrow afternoon.

The Under-19's will also welcome back Bill Marshall, Alex Payne, Harley Dawson, Williams Edenene, Charlie Lumsden, Harry Burland and Alex Hernandez, who all played in the academy last season.

Youngster George Harrison signed a professional contract with the first-team this Summer, but will also continue his development in the Under-19's.

Goalkeeper Sam Taylor will also play for the Under-19's after signing for the club last week, following his release from Sky Bet Championship outfit Huddersfield Town.

The Under-19's will begin their campaign on Wednesday, September 6 (1pm) against Boston United at the club's training ground.
