YORK City owner Matt Uggla has addressed the current issues within the club, and the nature surrounding the departure of midfielder Dan Pybus.

Pybus left York to join fellow Vanarama National League side Dorking Wanderers on Tuesday afternoon, joining the club on a three-year deal after allegedly refusing to play for City in last week's 2-2 draw with Altrincham.

It's not been an ideal start to the season for the Minstermen, with Michael Morton's side still waiting for their first win after four matches, but Uggla has ensured that things will improve.

Uggla also confirmed that they are looking at adding to the squad, saying on social media: "Clearly we haven’t got off to the start we wanted and everyone at the club will tell you the same thing.

"We are working behind the scenes to bring in some new faces to help the current squad out.

"I think that there has been a lot of panic which as a football fan I get, but we do have to remind ourselves we are 4 games into an extremely long season and alot can change!

"People asking about certain situations at the club and all I’ll comment on is that if you refuse to play for York or whatever you want to call it then you are not wanted.

"There’s thousands who attend every week who would die to play for the club.

"It’s an honour to wear that shirt and we will not accept that here.

"A big shoutout to Mitch Hancox who really stepped up and showed what it means to play for the club."
