ALDERSHOT Town manager Tommy Widdrington felt that his side let the three points slip through their fingers, after Lenell John-Lewis' 93rd minute equaliser grasped York City a 1-1 draw.

The Shots' had been in control for the majority of the game and will have felt frustrated not to have seen the game out after Aaron Jones' 41st minute opener, but failed to hold onto their lead after nine minutes of stoppage time at the end of the 90.

Widdrington was 'disappointed' that his side failed to see the game out after back-to-back defeats to Oldham Athletic and Ebbsfleet United, but also credited York for their efforts to earn a point on the road.

"We let two points slip through our fingers, I'm disappointed with that." Widdrington told the Aldershot media team.

"I thought in the first 30 to 35 minutes we hit the ground running, we looked like a really fluent attacking side.

"The chances we created earlier in the game had to be taken and it would've been put to bed.

"But, and there's always a but, we didn't. When you're only one goal ahead, there's always a chance that can happen.

"You've got to give them (York) credit, they kept going but we just switched off for a brief second and they've managed to get an equaliser.

"It's disappointing, but on the flip side of that we ended a run of defeats so I'm pleased about that.

"I'm definitely a glass half full type of guy, but I hurt when it happens and I want to see them hurt when it happens.

"If they don't, then they'll hear it from me. What goes on in there stays in there, we pick each other up.

"They'll pick me up and I'll pick them up on Monday."
