FORMER York City defender Fraser Kerr has found his next club after departing the Minstermen.

Kerr has made the move to the Southern Central Premier League to join recently-relegated AFC Telford United, therefore dropping out of full-time football.

Kerr exited York as part of the club's end-of-the-season retained list, after making 24 appearances and netting on two occassions for City.

After struggling with injuries and failing to break back into the starting eleven following Mark Ellis' arrival to the club, Kerr was released by the club.

Telford were thought to have been pursuing Kerr's signature for an extended period of time, and were happy to finally get their man.

Manager Kevin Wilkin was pleased to welcome Kerr to the club, saying: “Fraser is a presence; he’s a big strong boy who has played at a good level, and hopefully he can share some of that experience with certain other players in the team and in the group.

“There were things that I’ve thought have been been evident for a little while.

"I know we had the easier games starting off, but the last three games have been tough.

"We want tough games, but there was clear evidence on Tuesday night (in a pre-season friendly withTamworth) that we needed to find extra in certain areas and hopefully Fraser will be part of that.

“Fraser ideally would be still be in full-time football and playing to that level; hopefully we can provide a bit of a springboard for him and he can move us forward from the position we find ourselves in, so that both the club and and Fraser grow together.”
