YORK City are on the verge of the signing of Ayr United striker Dipo Akinyemi.
As reported by the Daily Record, York had a bid accepted for the forward, with owner Matt Uggla hinting at 'breaking a record' on social media this morning.
It's believed to be a substantial fee for the tricky forward, who had an impressive campaign with Ayr last season in scoring 20 goals and managing seven assists in the cinch Scottish Championship last season.
Akinyemi would become York's 12th signing of the Summer, with the Record revealing that the forward is having a trial this afternoon ahead of his proposed move to North Yorkshire.
The 26-year-old is no stranger to life in England, having played for the likes of Stevenage, Dulwich Hamlet and Welling United before making the switch to Scotland in 2022.
It's also believed that the striker had interest from the Scottish Premiership in Motherwell.
