YORK Knights have signed NRL star Cameron McInnes for 2027 on a three year deal.
McInnes, who plays at either loose forward or hooker, joins the Knights after four years with Cronulla Sharks.
In that time, the 32-year-old has played 111 times and scored 11 tries for the Sharks.
McInnes begun his career with South Sydney Rabbitohs, making his senior debut in 2014 against St. George Illawarra Dragons.
Having largely been used from the bench in his first two seasons with South Sydney, the sale of Isaac Luke in 2016 allowed McInnes to break into the first-team and nail down a starting point.
McInnes went on to join St. George Illawarra Dragons on a two year deal in 2017, helping them to qualify for the NRL finals.
But after a struggle of a season for the Dragons, McInnes had to endure some tough times, suffering an MCL injury that saw the hooker miss the first 12 weeks of the 2020 campaign.
McInnes played 91 times in total for the Dragons before leaving to sign for Cronulla in 2022.
In his second season there, he broke NRL records when completing 81 tackles in a single match, writing his name in the history books.
McInnes has played over 200 times in the Australian top flight, and has also represented New South Wales.
The 32-year-old, who is set to play in England for the first time, can't wait to get going, saying: "I'm really excited to be joining the Knights.
"It has always been an ambition of mine to play in the Super League, experience a different competition and to get the opportunity to do it in York with a team just starting out it's journey was hugely motivating.
"I can't wait to meet my new teammates and rip in with them."
Head coach Mark Applegarth added: "Cam's a real statement signing for us.
"After chatting with Cam numerous times now, he's going to be a real culture setter for us.
"He's got really high standards for himself and his team mates. He helps drive a certain standard within your environment. On top of that he's an outstanding player and person as well.
"I think Cam's going to be a real quality signing not only for York Knights but Super League as well.
"I can't work to get working with him and get to know his family and push York Knights forward."
