YORK Knights have added prop Matty English to their ranks for the rest of the 2026 season.
Mark Applegarth has bolstered his York side with the addition of Huddersfield Giants' English, who signs on loan until the end of the current Betfred Super League season.
The 28-year-old has been at Huddersfield since 2017, bar a few loan moves, making over 130 appearances during his time with the Giants.
That saw English rewarded with a testimonial match at the beginning of 2026, in a pre-season friendly that was held against York at the Accu Stadium.
LoveRugbyLeague are also reporting that the move is likely to become permanent in 2027.
English made his Huddersfield debut in 2017 after rising through the Giants' academy, and had short loan spells at Dewsbury Rams in 2018, and Castleford Tigers in 2024.
His long standing contributions to Huddersfield earned a call-up to the England Knights, making one appearance in 2019, and another in 2022.
English is in contention to play for the Knights in their match against St Helens at the LNER Community Stadium on Saturday (5.30pm).
