Aldi is set to launch a trial of a new service in a select number of its UK stores, before a planned nationwide rollout in 2027.
The supermarket chain is partnering with Deliveroo to bring on-demand groceries to customers.
Modelled on Aldi’s partnerships with DoorDash (Deliveroo’s parent company) in the United States and Australia, Deliveroo riders will pick, pack and deliver orders directly from stores.
Giles Hurley, chief executive officer at Aldi UK, said: "We've always been committed to bringing low prices to as many people as possible, and this partnership with Deliveroo allows us to do exactly that without changing how our stores operate.

"The DoorDash model has been incredibly popular with Aldi customers in Australia and the United States, and we know from our previous trial there is clear demand for more affordable groceries on a rapid delivery platform in the UK.
"By working with Deliveroo, we can give more people access to Aldi quality and value, however they choose to shop with us."
What can Aldi customers order on Deliveroo?
The service will give customers access to around 2,000 Aldi products through the Deliveroo app, including fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy, bread, household essentials and Specialbuys.
Orders can be placed for immediate delivery or scheduled for a later time, with products delivered directly to customers’ doors.
Aldi has claimed that items ordered through the app will be priced lower than any other supermarket offering rapid delivery.
What Aldi stores will be taking part in the Deliveroo trial?
The trial will launch across eight stores from Tuesday, October 6, which are:
- Victoria Road, Ashford, TN23 7HQ
- Cherry Tree Avenue, Dover, CT16 2NL
- William Frost Way, Norwich, NR5 0JS
- Hines Road, Ipswich, IP3 9BG
- Avenue One, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 2HU
