Updated: A man has died after a head-on crash between a lorry and a car on York's outer ring road.
The accident happened at 8.15pm on Tuesday on the A1237, between the B1224 and Moor Lane roundabout, and involved a blue Vauxhall Signum heading north and a Tesco delivery lorry going south.
The car driver was declared dead at the scene. The lorry driver was taken to York Hospital with minor injuries.
Firefighters, paramedics and police were all called to the scene. The road was closed for eight hours but has now re-opened.
