Loyal fans to miss out

AT a time when York City are complaining about low attendances it seems strange that the club is apparently persisting in shooting itself in the foot by not resolving the unfortunate fixture clash with the Knights on Sunday, February 12.

Admittedly, City's match was arranged first, so the Knights are probably more at fault for accepting a home match on the same day.

My son and I are season ticket holders at both clubs and object strongly to having to miss a match which we have paid for owing to a lack of planning and consultation between the clubs. After all, they will have to work more closely together when the new stadium comes about.

There must be a considerable number of supporters who watch both clubs and, regardless of the loss of income, allowing a clash to take place shows little respect for some of the respective clubs' most loyal fans.

Is it really beyond the ingenuity of the clubs to come up with a solution?

Given that City's match has an early start anyway, even staggered kick-offs of, say 1.30pm and 4pm would be better than nothing.
