YORK City Knights new boys Joe Helme and Dan Briggs will fight between themselves for a place on the bench in tomorrow's National League Two match at London Skolars.

Boss Paul Broadbent will take a squad of 18 to north London, with Helme or Briggs a travelling reserve.

Assistant player-coach Graeme Hallas returns after a one-game ban but Broadbent is unlikely to tamper with the starting line-up which led the Knights to their win over leaders Keighley, so Hallas will probably start as substitute, with Gavin Molloy making way. Prop Craig Forsyth is okay after suffering dehydration last week and fit-again fellow prop Andy Burland might also be included.

Broadbent himself is out for the season but has no qualms that his squad can do the business without him.

"They proved on Sunday that with the right application and preparation they can beat anybody in their own rights," he said.

"We've got a few scores to settle with London so we've got to make sure we take it to them. We showed last week that we can play some quality rugby and we've got to make sure we don't get sloppy.

"Skolars are going to be confident as they know they've taken us to the wire before so we've got to be really committed. We served up an embarrassing display against them last time and that alone should drive us on. The players' desire and pride should make them want to perform."

Skolars coach Mark Croston, whose side have lost every other match this season, has added Rubert Jonkers, prop Gareth Janes, Paul Colloy and Andy Craig to his squad, while Alex Smits and David Mossop will retain their positions after impressing at Barrow last week.

Knights (probable): Woodcock, Godfrey, Cain, Law, Kama, Rhodes, Brough, Hayes, Jackson, Forsyth, Ramsden, Callaghan, Krause. Subs from Hallas, Burland, Helme, Riddell, Spink, Briggs.
