THERE was an exciting division two finish at Sewerby who enjoyed a last-ball win over Dringhouses.

Chris Briggs made 64 and Mike Artley 53 as Sewerby took full batting value at 218-6. For Dringhouses, Kevin McGuinness (43), Mick Kenyon (40) and Danny Snaith (26) seemed to have done enough to earn their side a draw as they reached 180-8 with just two balls to go.

Tahir Maqsood then performed heroics to grab an unlikely win for the home side when he took the ninth wicket off the penultimate ball with the help of a slip catch by Artley and then clinched victory by trapping the last man lbw with the final delivery.

Rowntrees top batsman Richard Tuite hit his second century of the season and his 11th three-figure score in the league to help his side gain a seven-wicket win at Harrogate.

The home side posted 209-6 as James Brecknock made 29, Jeremy Henderson 55, Miles Rawlings 48no and James Townsend 26no. Dave Whittle's 3-52 in 12 overs were to prove to be the best bowling of the day as Tuite took full command. He had support from Gerry Capelin (33) as Rowntrees moved to 210-3 to improve their chances of retaining a second division place.

After 12 unsuccessful attempts, Stillington pulled off their first win since 2001 when they beat fellow strugglers Wilberfoss by 81 runs to net 29 valuable points.

Stillington benefitted from two half-centuries with Kevin Borwell making 84 and Chris Gladwin 54 to help them make 183-7 as home bowler Des Healey took 3-54. Wilberfoss were then put to the sword by Matt Coulson (5-40) and Rich Coultas (4-18) and found themselves all out for 102.
