A road in Barmby Moor is set to close next month for works.

Flat Lane, at the junction of Main Street, will be shut to traffic from 8am to 5pm on Wednesday, November 18, while works are carried out on behalf of Yorkshire Water.

The closure is necessary to allow for the renewal of a stoptap and chamber.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced the closure under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1).

While the order for the closure is valid for 18 months, it is expected that the works will be completed within the nine-hour window.

An alternative route for traffic will be in place, taking drivers via North Back Lane, St Helens Square, and Main Street, Barmby Moor.

The diversion route will be signed at the time of the closure.

The council has stated that the road will be closed to all traffic for the duration of the works.

However, access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
