Homes were flooded and vehicles left stranded as heavy rain hit the North Yorkshire coast.
The downpours throughout Friday (October 23) caused flash flooding in Scarborough.
It comes as the area braces for more rain and winds of up to 60mph as Storm Boelo arrives with yellow weather warnings in place from midday on Saturday to 9pm on Sunday.

Police urged people to avoid Manor Road, Scalby Road, Valley Road, Valley Bridge, Filey Road, Ramshill Road and the surrounding streets in Scarborough due to flooding on Friday.
In an update on Friday night, North Yorkshire Police said water was beginning to recede in the flooded areas of the town but some roads remained closed.
“Please continue to avoid the area if possible and follow the road closure signs,” a police spokesperson said.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service responded to more than a dozen reports of flooding across the seaside town.
Crews pumped water out of homes in Westbourne Grove, Falsgrave Road and St Johns Road from 5pm on Friday.
They also responded to several reports of flooding at businesses in Scarborough.
The fire service said crews tackled “significant flooding” at a business in Esplanade which left the building without power.
They also attended a business in Westwood Road where the flooded area measured around 80m x 40m resulting in the road being closed.
The fire service said the flood in Westwood Road did not spread to residential properties and its crews used a portable pump to “eject the water from the property”.
Meanwhile, crews rescued people who were inside a vehicle that entered floodwater in Plantation Hill at about 5.55pm.
The fire service said the road was closed as its crews rescued the occupants of the vehicle in Plantation Hill.
Around 15 minutes later, crews were called to another vehicle stuck in floodwater in Seamer Road.
The occupant of the vehicle was able to exit and the vehicle was recovered, the fire service said.
Crews were called to another report of a vehicle in floodwater shortly after 7pm in Weaponness Road where the occupant had safely exited the vehicle.
Firefighters also responded to a report that floodwater entered an electrical box in Belle Vue Street, “causing a loud bang”, according to the fire service.
“Crews stood by and monitored until the arrival of the electricity board. The incident was handed over and left in the care of an electricity board engineer,” a fire service spokesperson said.
Scarborough and Whitby MP Alison Hume urged people to “please take care” during the floods.
