A week of activities has been announced at SPARK, headlined by an art competition to raise money for a youth charity.

SPARK: York CIC is gearing up for the October half-term with various workshops, community initiatives, and family-friendly events.

The highlight will be an art competition in collaboration with YorKAOS, raising funds for Door84, a York-based charity supporting children through creative activities.

The competition will run from Monday, October 26, at 12pm to Friday, October 30, at 3pm.

SPARK will provide white A4 paper and basic colouring materials on-site.

There are various categories, including Halloween-themed art, drawing, mixed media, and photography.

Winners will be awarded experiences at top local York attractions.

The YorKAOS committee will judge the entries on Friday, October 30, at 3pm, with winners announced at 5.30pm.

The artwork will be displayed publicly over the weekend and can be collected on Tuesday, November 3.

Other highlights include craft workshops on Monday, October 26, a sensory space trial from Tuesday to Thursday, and Halloween trick-or-treating on Saturday, October 31.

The sensory space trial will run daily from 10am to 2.30pm in the SHOW space, with SPARK seeking community feedback to shape future accessible programming.
