Bella Middleton, a passionate home aromatherapist, is the founder of Norfolk Natural Living which launched in 2019, with each product crafted by hand in its Norfolk workshop using therapeutic-grade essential oils and botanical ingredients.
A brand spokesperson said: "York felt like a wonderful fit for Norfolk Natural Living, with its beautiful streets, independent shops and sense of character."
Its collection includes everything from natural home cleaning products, all made with botanical ingredients and minimal packaging, to fragrances.
Norfolk Natural Living products are vegan, cruelty-free, and free from harsh chemicals such as bleach, chlorine, parabens, and phthalates.
The company uses glass and recycled rPET bottles, first collected from nearby beaches and recycled into the bottles used, and keeps packaging to a minimum.
The York store marks the brand’s first location in the north of England.
Other shops can be found in Holt, Wells-next-the-Sea, Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Southwold, Norwich, Cambridge, and two in London.
The retail unit in Stonegate has previously housed leather bag retailer Zatchels, a modern British accessories brand founded on years of experience as a traditional leather goods manufacturer.
Zatchels previously had a shop in Shambles which shut just before Christmas 2019.

Norfolk Natural Living's Stonegate shop will offer shoppers a sensory experience with its glass bottles, soy-wax candles, linen sprays, and hand creams.
Visitors will be encouraged to explore the full range. The official public opening celebration will take place on Friday, November 13, from 10am to 5pm.
Customers are invited to explore the full range and enjoy free gifts, hand massages, and will get help from the team to find their perfect scent.
Ms Middleton has described the brand as "a quiet rebellion against the idea that beautiful living should be reserved for special occasions."
On the company website, she says: "It's about transforming everyday rituals into small moments of joy.
"It's about living well, with less, and always giving more than we take."
Products include refillable soy wax candles, natural room sprays, dog shampoo, hand creams, and fine fragrances, all crafted slowly in small batches.
Norfolk Natural Living also works with British artisans who share its values of beauty, function, and sustainability.
The company’s studio is based in Norfolk, surrounded by lavender fields and coastal air, which inspire the brand’s gentle, grounding approach.
Each item is mixed, poured, labelled, and wrapped by hand.
