A FESTIVE ice rink - complete with snowfall - is returning to York for the first time in more than a decade.
Thor's on Ice has revealed it will launch on November 13, running until January 3, and promises a "full winter wonderland experience" in the heart of the city.
As reported by The Press in July, Thor's pop-up ice rink - which is the first time that the city centre has had skating since 2010 - will be built on a paved patio at the back of the York Art Gallery in the city's Museum Gardens.

Alongside the 4,950sq ft rink, visitors can enjoy seasonal street food, festive drinks, and live entertainment - all under one roof by the team behind THOR’S tipi.
Amanda Monaghan, director at Thor's tipi, said: "Partnering with Lucia brings another brilliant York experience to Thor's on Ice
"The team shares our enthusiasm for creating places where people can come together and celebrate, and their signature cocktails and festive drinks will add something really special to the rink.

"It’s a wonderful way to bring two York favourites together and make a festive visit to the city even more memorable."
THOR’S signature winter tipi will also return to Museum Gardens for its fourth consecutive year,.
They will also partner with York restaurant Lucia who will collaborate with Veuve Clicquot - serving Champagne, festive cocktails, mulled wine, mulled rosé, and hot chocolate.

Operations director, Darioush Shahidi, said: "Christmas in York has such a special atmosphere, and we’re thrilled to be working with THOR’S on ICE to be part of the celebrations in a new way.
"We want to bring a little of Lucia’s personality to the rink, with a warm welcome, a touch of glamour, and some playful festive drinks.

"With our Swinegate terrace joining in the magic, we hope people will make Lucia part of their Christmas traditions, whether that’s catching up over cocktails, gathering for a festive meal or making a whole evening of their visit to the ice."
Lucia’s Swinegate terrace will be transformed into a winter retreat with blankets, festive flowers, Christmas trees, and snow-dusted decorations.
Both the restaurant and the THOR’S on ICE terrace will see snowfall every hour, on the hour.
