RISING art-rock band Robo are set to play their biggest headline gig yet.
The York-based four-piece will perform at The Crescent in York on Thursday, October 8, as part of a night celebrating fresh guitar music from the city.
They will be joined by fellow York bands Ghostship and Vagabond.
Robo have been making waves since signing to 25 Hour Convenience Store, the label founded by The Libertines’ drummer Gary Powell, last September.
Since then, they have completed two UK tours, sold out two shows in York, and grown their fanbase across the country.
Their latest single, Claw Machine, received airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music from presenter Chris Hawkins, who described it as his "new favourite thing from an exciting new band".
Formed in York in 2023, Robo blend art-rock with pop influences, featuring three vocalists and multiple songwriters.
Their sound combines intertwining guitars, strong melodic hooks, and unexpected shifts, offering a unique take on the genre.
The Crescent show comes as the band prepares to release new music, with their latest single, Waste of Space, set for release on September 29.
The track was produced by Gary Powell at The Albion Rooms in Margate and marks the beginning of a fresh run of material as the band gears up for a third UK tour this autumn.
Tickets for the show are priced at £10 plus a booking fee and are available through the venue’s website.
Doors open at 7.30pm and the event is standing only.
