A food content creator on TikTok visited the restaurant and said: “Hidden in the heart of York, The Whippet Inn served up the perfect Chateaubriand sharer.
“Onion rings, chips, mushrooms and all the extras – easily one of the best meals we’ve had.
“A true hidden treasure.”
The Whippet Inn creates its dishes using locally sourced ingredients, with a range of items on its menu from baked salmon fillet and Iberico pork pluma to steaks served with a variety of sauces.
You can add on a range of sides as well, from skinny fries and seasonal greens to beef dripping chips and oven-roasted mushrooms in a garlic herb butter.
The restaurant also offers an impressive roast dinner on Sundays where you can choose from beef, chicken or puff pastry Wellington that comes with all of the traditional sides.
At lunchtime, The Whippet Inn has a set menu that costs £15.95 for one course, £20.95 for two courses, and £24.95 for three courses.
To finish off your meal, you can choose from its range of desserts such as affogato, chocolate and caramel tart, and classic sticky toffee pudding.
