Firefighters rescued someone who was trapped inside a toilet cubicle in York today, Thursday, September 17.

A crew from York was called to an address on Layerthorpe just outside the city centre.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue said: "They used crew power to force entry and release the person from the cubicle."

The exact address was not confirmed on Layerthorpe which home to student accommodation blocks, hotels, residential properties and a number of businesses.
