The eastbound A64 between the A19 junction for Fulford and Selby and the A1079 junction for the east of York and Hull had seen traffic held up by 20 minutes after a grey Fiat 500 left the road.

Average speeds were down to 10 miles per hour over the three-and-a-half mile route.

It is now being reported that traffic is running normally in the area.

Yesterday, the A64 saw speeds limited and 20 minute delays on part of the route to the north east of the city in both directions at Flaxton.
