A train carriage in York has been evacuated after smoke was seen onboard.
Firefighters were called to the stationary passenger train's carriage at York railway station on platform five shortly after 3.50pm on Saturday (August 8).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said everyone was evacuated from the carriage after the smoke was reported.
The fire service said the crews found smoke in the carriage’s toilet.
Crews isolated the power and made the area safe, it added.
In a statement, the fire service said: “Acomb and York [crews] proceeded to investigate a report of smoke issuing from a stationary train carriage.
“All people were evacuated and crews confirmed a minor area in a toilet that had some smoke visible. Crews isolated power and made area safe.”
