Search the Public Notice PortalPEOPLE living close to a York takeaway have spoken about their fears over its bid to stay open later.
Residents of Moss Street, which is next to the Blossom Street KFC, said they were already having to deal with noise, antisocial behaviour, litter and parking problems.
They added they were worried that issues could get worse if its bid to open until up to 2am on some nights for deliveries could make things worse.
The fried chicken fast food chain has been contacted for comment.
It comes after Chicken Cabins Ltd, franchisee of the Blossom Street site, lodged an application with York Council to alter its current licence on Thursday, June 18.

The restaurant would be licensed to sell food and drinks until 1am from Sunday to Tuesday and until 2am from Wednesday to Saturday.
It would close for takeaway sales at its current closing time of midnight and only sell food and drinks via delivery after that.
But a resident who lives in Moss Street close to the takeaway who asked not to be named said the restaurant’s existing hours were already causing problems.
They said: “It’s crazy, there’s been a lot of antisocial behaviour and we’ve got families and elderly people living here.
“We’ve got people including those who’ve gone to nearby pubs who come to KFC and hanging around in that area.

“The KFC’s already got deliveries coming before 7am, trucks coming three or four times a week.
“Because of the nature of the place people can’t sit inside the KFC so they sit outside and then we get the noise.
“We’ve also found rubbish left behind on our doorsteps and drinks left on our windowsills, it can also get quite bad when the races are on.
“People also drive to the KFC and park in our street and we’re not able to turn our cars around.”
Tom, who has lived in Moss Street with his wife for four years, said residents in the street also faced problems with antisocial behaviour generally.
He said: “There’s been a few occasions when kids have come down and kicked the doors to cause disruption.
“We can sometimes hear people shouting on Blossom Street too but it’s nothing beyond average drunk behaviour.
“So I don’t love the idea, particularly given that litter’s already a bit of a problem.”
Andy Robinson, a resident of Moss Street for five years, said he did not think the changes would be an issue provided the restaurant only opens later for deliveries.
He said: “There’s already a fair amount of noise and we also have some issues with litter.
“If it’s just deliveries it wouldn’t affect us but if it leads to people hanging around until late that would be different.”
Another resident who asked not to be named said they expected problems would get worse if the application is approved.
They said: “If we could trust it wouldn’t be a nuisance I wouldn’t mind, but we’ve already had people coming and going from there morning and night and packaging littered on the street.”
People can comment on the takeaway’s application until Thursday, July 16.
