Whitby traffic chaos as swing bridge becomes stuck

ROAD users and pedestrians are being warned of traffic building after the closure of Whitby Swing Bridge.

Reports of the incident shortly after 2pm on Thursday (June 25) said that the bridge is “stuck” and is closed to both vehicles and pedestrians.

It comes as areas of the town, including Mayfield Road, the A171 and Downdinner Hill are also experiencing very slow and building traffic.
