THREE suspected burglars have been arrested after lockers were reported to have been raided at a York gym.
Two men, aged 33 and 35, and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after a silver BMW 3 series was stopped by North Yorkshire Police on the A64 on Wednesday (June 24).
It came after police received reports at around 7.15pm that several lockers in the male changing room at the gym had been broken into and cash stolen.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “A man, believed to have arrived in an Audi A6 S Line, had been seen acting suspiciously in the changing rooms but had left before officers arrived, leaving the Audi in the car park.
“A couple of hours later, officers, who were still in in the area, spotted the Audi again, travelling in convoy with a silver BMW 3 Series.”
Officers later spotted the Audi parked in a Park and Ride car park.
Two men seen leaving the car and heading towards Hull Road by City of York CCTV operators, police said.
The force also located the BMW on the A64, bringing it to a stop by boxing it in.
A police spokesperson said: “As pursuit trained officers moved in, the driver tried to escape, reversing into a police vehicle before running off across a grass bank, but he didn’t get far and was quickly detained.
“A 33-year-old was arrested on suspicion of burglary and dangerous driving, as well as driving without a licence or insurance.
“Shortly after, two more males matching the CCTV descriptions were stopped on Hull Road, one found with keys to an Audi.
“A 35-year-old man, and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
“All three remain in custody while our investigation continues.”
The force has thanked “sharp-eyed” members of the public and City of York CCTV colleagues, along with “vigilant” officers at the scene for helping track and arrest the individuals.
