This video was made 15 years ago to lay bare the dangers of York's rivers during The Press campaign, Think, Don't Swim.

Earlier this month, a young man entered the River Ouse from a nearby balcony and, fortunately, was able to climb out and walk away.

But the potentially tragic consequences have prompted Vicki Horrocks, whose son Richard drowned after leaping into the Ouse, to speak out.

Now, we are reshowing the video to remind people in York of the dangers posed by the city's rivers - and why you must never enter them.
