A live concert tour featuring a beloved Hollywood classic is set to arrive in York this year.

Dirty Dancing in Concert, a global live-to-film experience, will come to York Barbican on May 28 as part of its 2026 UK tour.

The show features a screening of the digitally remastered film, accompanied by a live band and vocalists performing the soundtrack in sync with the on-screen action.

Produced by Lionsgate, GEA Live, and Karl Sydow in collaboration with Senbla, the concert is part of a world tour spanning Europe and North America.

Floris Douwes, producer and managing director at GEA Live, said: "Dirty Dancing has always been more than just a movie – it’s a cultural touchstone that continues to resonate across generations.

"We’re ecstatic to have the opportunity to bring this live-to-film celebration back to audiences around the world, combining the magic of the original film with the energy of a live concert.

"Whether you're seeing it for the first time or the fiftieth, this experience invites fans to fall in love with Baby and Johnny all over again – and dance the night away."

The event will also include an after-party, inviting the audience to sing and dance along to the film’s well-recognised soundtrack.
