A force spokesperson confirmed that his death is not believed to be suspicious, but despite “extensive enquiries”, no next of kin had been identified.

They added: “If you are a relative, or have any information that could help locate Mr Gray’s family, please contact the Coroner’s Office by emailing: coroner@northyorkshire.police.uk.”
