A VILLAGE pub in rural North Yorkshire has gone on the market.

The Moor & Pheasant in Dalton, just a few miles from Thirsk and Northallerton, has been put up for sale through estate agents Everard Cole with offers invited in the region of £600,000.

Everard Cole say the traditional stone-built pub which has been closed for several years has significant potential as a destination food-led venue.

The sale for £600,000 includes the former public house along with a caravan site to the rear for 12 units. Alternatively, the pub site is for sale for £295,000 as a leasehold option.

The property includes a traditional bar and lounge, dining areas, a fully-equipped commercial kitchen, beer garden and private living accommodation, making it suitable for both owner-operators and hospitality entrepreneurs. There is also a car park to the rear.

James Boshier, of Everard Cole, said: “Village pubs like the Moor & Pheasant are an important part of rural Yorkshire life. With the kitchen, bar areas and accommodation already in place, this site provides an excellent opportunity for someone to relaunch it as a thriving village pub or destination dining venue for locals and visitors alike.”

Details published on Rightmove.co.uk say the detached property extends to two storeys and features an outer entrance porch leading to a trading area and commercial catering kitchen.

There are also male and female toilets and a beer cellar along with a three-bedroom living accommodation upstairs with a lounge, bathroom and kitchen.

There is a lodge/static caravan site to the rear with separate water and electric to each pitch, which is licensed for 12 units, with one currently on site.

The details state that the client will consider the sale of the whole site or splitting the pub off but the caravan site would retain about 16 parking spaces.
