A new “raw dog food supermarket” is opening in York – and will cater to the “growing demand for biologically appropriate pet diets”, according to its owners.

The supermarket opens on Saturday, April 5, in Clifton Moor and will stock premium raw pet food and natural treats.

Wagging Tail Raw Dog Food is the business behind the venture and already has a shop in Northallerton.

A company spokesperson said it aims to “educate and support pet owners in transitioning to raw feeding while making premium pet nutrition more accessible and affordable”.

Russ Darlington, founder of Wagging Tail Raw Dog Food, said owners will find “everything they need to give their pets the very best diet” at the supermarket.

“As a passionate advocate for pet health, I wanted to create a space where owners could find everything they need to give their pets the very best diet.

“Raw feeding is now the right food choice for companion owners of dogs and cats, and with four years experience in RAW retail, we are here to make it easier for people to make the switch.”
