Beningbrough is set to celebrate International Women's Day by honouring women who have significantly influenced the creative world.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, March 8, will coincide with the final weeks of a highly praised exhibition.

Renowned sculptor Rebecca Stevenson will be present to discuss her work and the pioneering women artists who have inspired her.Laura Turner Curator preparing the Mary Delany photgraphic artworks (Image: Gareth Buddo)

Her piece, 'Mary, Maria, Marianne,' displayed in the Great Hall, pays tribute to Maria Sibylla Merian, Marianne North, and Mary Delany.

Rachel Conroy, senior national curator for the National Trust and author of 'Women Artists & Designers of the National Trust,' will join Stevenson.

"We’re thrilled to welcome Rebecca Stevenson and Rachel Conroy for this inspiring International Women’s Day event, offering visitors a unique opportunity to delve into the stories behind these remarkable artists."

Visitors can attend informal drop-in sessions at 11.30am–12pm and 1.30pm–2pm, with spaces available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Talks are free with admission, and National Trust members can enter for free.Visitor studying one of the art works Visitor studying one of the art works (Image: Gareth Buddo)

Alongside the event, visitors can explore 'The Botanical World of Mary Delany,' a photographic display in partnership with the British Museum.

This features high-quality images that reveal the intricate details of Delany’s work.

She used paper, paint, and scissors to create scientifically accurate botanical artworks, her celebrated ‘paper mosaiks.’

The exhibition closes on March 23.
