AN iconic rock band from the 1960s is set to perform at Pocklington Arts Centre (PAC) next year.

The Animals, who rose to fame with ‘House of the Rising Sun’ in 1964, will be performing at PAC as part of their farewell tour on Friday, April 29, 2022.

They will be joined by Scottish rock vocalist, Maggie Bell.

PAC director, Janet Farmer, said: “An act of this calibre really needs no introduction.

“PAC has hosted many of the great heritage bands over the years including The Searchers, The Manfreds, The Blues Band, PJ Proby, and Marty Wilde so we are delighted to welcome The Animals whose hits endure to this day.

“It’s their farewell tour - this could be your last chance to see them live on stage.”

The Animals rose to number one in the UK, US and Canada, and are recognised in Rolling Stone’s Greatest Songs of All Time.

They are behind hits such as ‘Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood’, ‘We Gotta Get Out of this Place’, and ‘Don’t Bring Me Down’.

Tickets cost £32.50, from www.pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk or call the Box Office on 01759 301547.
