A MAN who was found with injuries on the A19 near the York Designer Outlet is being dealt with by the Home Office.

North Yorkshire Police arrested the man, thought to be in his thirties, on suspicion of entering the UK illegally, following reports a man had fallen from a lorry on the road between York and Selby in November.

He was initially thought to be seriously hurt and taken to York Hospital, but his injuries were note as serious as first thought.

Police arrested him in hospital, but said this week the man had been handed over to the Home Office.

A Home Office spokesman said: "Home Office Immigration officials are now dealing with this case in line with immigration rules."
