NIKAU WILLIAMS has been handed a Grade E Dangerous Contact charge following Sunday's Betfred Championship opening day defeat to Doncaster.
Williams has been hit with a Grade E Dangerous Contact charge after an alleged offence from Sunday's 36-20 defeat to Doncaster, with the York Knights half-back potentially missing between four to six matches.
The off-season addition has been referred to Tribunal for the incident, which has left Doncaster's Alex Sutcliffe with a broken jaw in three places.
Sutcliffe is now expected to be sidelined for around three months, as confirmed by the Doncaster website yesterday, with Williams being punished for the high tackle committed.
Williams was a off-season addition from Newcastle Thunder, with the New Zealander signing a two-year deal in North Yorkshire.
The Knights half-back has featured in all six of York's competitive fixtures so far this season, and joins Jordan Thompson, Jesse Dee and Will Dagger in suspensions, with the trio having two matches remaining.
