YORK City Knights player-boss Paul March wants to have the bulk of his 2008 squad tied down before this weekend.

Former Wakefield star March goes on holiday next week and hopes he can concentrate on team affairs on his return knowing player recruitment is virtually finalised.

He is looking to run with a first-team squad of 26, plus six to eight fringe players who are also eligible for under-21s rugby.

Talks are also ongoing with potential signings Tommy Gallagher and Mark Applegarth, Hull academy teenager Ross Divorty, Batley's Chris Langley, and other players from this season's squad.

The first-team players signed up are: Paul March, David March, Dave Buckley, Scott Rhodes, Ryan Esders, Lee Mapals, Toby Williams, Danny Grimshaw, Rob Kelly, Jonny Waldron, Tom Dunmore, Andy Gargan, Kyle Palmer, Luke Watling, Oliver Wilcox-Harrison, Tom Wilcox-Harrison, Adam Endersby.
