YORK City Knights Ladies play their first game of 2018 tomorrow, away to Hull FC Ladies.

The Easter Monday match kickstarts the team’s preparations for their maiden Women’s Super League season, with bad weather having disrupted much of their pre-season.

As reported by The Press, the team, coached by former York Acorn ARLC player Daryl North, were accepted into the inaugural WSL last autumn, and will kick off their campaign away to St Helens Ladies on Sunday, April 15.

Saints, playing as Thatto Heath, along with Castleford, Bradford Bulls and Featherstone, were part of the trial league last summer and have been joined in the expanded competition by Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors and York, who were unbeaten in last summer's Merit League and won the Challenge Shield in their first year under the Knights’ umbrella.

Hull FC will play in a development league this year.

Today’s match is at the Bonus Youth Performance Centre, off Pickering Road, Hull, kicking off at 11am.
